Multilateral Climate Funds (MCFs) are important modalities that support developing countries in advancing climate action and socioeconomic goals through the implementation of their National Adaptation Plans (NAP) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC). The multilateral climate funds also hold critical political significance, reflecting an acknowledgment by developed countries for historical greenhouse gas emissions and in line with the commitments made by developed countries under the UNFCCC to support developing countries mitigate and adapt to climate change (Climate Funds Update, n.d.)
