MAKATI, 14 November 2019 – The Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), in partnership with the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities (ICSC) and Ayala Corporation, is organizing a forum on tackling climate change and sustainability in the boardroom this Tuesday, November 19, at the Makati Diamond Residences.

“Integrating Sustainability and Innovation in Corporate Strategy”, the last forum in ICD’s Distinguished Corporate Governance Speaker Series this year, comes ahead of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s new rules requiring all publicly-listed companies to submit sustainability reports starting next year.

The first panel, “Integrating Sustainability in Corporate Strategy”, will feature SEC Commissioner Ephyro Amatong; climate change and sustainable development expert Matthew McKinnon, founder and executive director of the Swiss nonprofit AROHA; climate and energy finance advisor Sara Jane Ahmed, analyst of the US-based Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis; and Agnes de Jesus, chief sustainability officer of First Philippine Holdings Corporation.

The second panel, “Innovation and Sustainability”, will feature Viking Logarta, energy policy advisor of ICSC; Reynaldo Casas, president and founder of Advance Renewable Energy Inc.; and Alberto Dalusung III, member of the National Renewable Energy Board.

ICD president Dr. Alfredo Pascual and ICSC executive director Renato Redentor Constantino will open the forum, while ICD trustees Ricardo Nicanor Jacinto and Atty. Pedro H. Maniego, Jr. will moderate the panels.

The forum will also feature the findings from the Future Ready Boards, a comprehensive research undertaken in Asia headed by Center for Creative Leadership–Singapore to understand the evolution of board-level leadership in the region.

Directors and executives of top Philippine corporations, as well as policymakers and regulators, are expected to attend the forum.
