A team consisting of one journalist and one visual storyteller in the Philippines are eligible to apply. We highly encourage journalists from or working in the provinces to participate. For more information about eligibility, you may click here.
Yes, previous applicants and fellows of the Jaime Espina Klima Correspondents Fellowship may apply again, as long as they meet the eligibility criteria. However, priority will be given to those who have not been selected as Fellows before.
We recommend submitting just one proposal, as we encourage you to make it as compelling and detailed as possible.
We accept stories in Filipino and other native Philippine languages. However, English versions (print) and/or English subtitles (audiovisual) must also be included in the final outputs.
Yes. A letter of support or commitment from an affiliated publication (preferably local/national) is required as part of the application.
Each confirmed team will receive a grant of up to PHP100,000.00 to cover expenses for story gathering, editing, and production, as well as provide a working stipend for the Fellows.
Yes, submitting your expense receipts is necessary for transparency and accounting purposes. Fellows will be asked to liquidate their expenses before the project closes.

Yes, freelance journalists can apply, but they must secure a letter of commitment from a legitimate media outlet (preferably local or national) that commits to publishing the stories by the Fellows.

The important requirement is to form a team of two who can collaborate on the project, but they must secure a letter of commitment from a legitimate media outlet (preferably local or national) that commits to publishing the stories produced by the Fellows.
Yes, visual storytellers, including photographers, videographers, and multimedia journalists, are encouraged to apply. Teams can combine different skill sets to produce diverse and engaging content.
