Report: Policy Pathways to Finance Tactical Urbanism in the Philippines
This policy brief examines the financing dimension of tactical urbanism (TU) in the Philippines, exploring pathways such as local budgets, national support programs, public–private partnerships, and community-led initiatives. Drawing on insights from surveys and focus group discussions in Maginhawa Street (Quezon City) and A. Mabini Street (Pasig City), it identifies the factors that enable or constrain resource mobilization for TU interventions.
The brief provides guidance for national and local strategies to embed TU within mainstream urban development, emphasizing the need for clearer institutional mandates, stronger coordination across government agencies, and financing tools that support sustained, people-centered street design.
