Generation costs still dominate electricity prices despite FIT-ALL charges
Quezon City, August 6, 2026 — Power generation costs continue to account for the largest share of consumers’ monthly electricity bills, significantly outweighing Feed-in-Tariff Allowance (FIT-ALL) and Green Energy Auction Allowance (GEA-ALL), according to the latest analysis by the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities (ICSC). ICSC’s analysis of data from PRESYO-PH found that generation charges accounted for an average of 57% of residential electricity rates in July, equivalent to PHP 7.28 per kilowatt-hour– a 10% spike from June.
