The Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities (ICSC) joins the Asia-Pacific Climate Week from November 13-17, 2023, at the Johor International Convention Centre in Johor, Malaysia, where policymakers, practitioners, businesses, and civil society representatives will gather to discuss barriers, challenges, and opportunities for climate action in Asia and the Pacific.

ICSC also serves as the co-convenor of the Independent Global Stocktake (iGST) Southeast Asia Hub, a consortium of civil society actors supporting the Global Stocktake (GST) processes of the UNFCCC.

Engaging Regional Non-State Actors in the Follow-up Period of the First Global Stocktake: Insight from the Independent Global Stocktake

This event will discuss the role of the regional non-state actors (NSA) in the GST follow-up processes, identify the gap between the NSA’s own efforts and actual policy, and discuss the conditions necessary to close the gap in the Asia-Pacific region. This affiliated event is a series of sessions to discuss a whole-of-society approach in pursuing collective progress and action to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement, highlighting the complementing roles and responsibilities of countries and NSAs.
